About Rain City Dogs

In 2013, Rain City Dogs was founded by Hunter Johnson. Her many years of experience in both dog training and walking, she created a business that stood for leadership, compassion, and integrity. After 8 years of building a loyal clientele and an exceptional reputation within the Vancouver dog community, Hunter followed a life long dream of moving to the Sunshine Coast! (you can now find her walking dogs on the coast at our sister company Rain Coast Dogs!) It was at this time, Hunter decided to entrust her high standards, knowledge and give Rain City Dogs to Lucian and Nick.

In July 2020, Lucian and Nick officially took responsibility for Rain City Dogs. With their shared knowledge and passion for dogs and their pet parents alike, they continue to uphold the original core values of Rain City Dogs.

Our mission is now to cultivate a community of dog lovers and advocates, while providing a safe, reliable service for your pet. We pride ourselves on our dedication to understanding each dog’s individual needs. To us, it’s not simply about taking your dog for a walk; it’s about getting to know and understand his/her unique personality.  We are an ALL BREEDS company serving the Vancouver area. We do our best to work with dogs of all behaviors, backgrounds, and schedules. While we may be a diverse group of humans, we come together with one goal in mind, the happiness of our dogs!

Thank you for checking out Rain City Dogs. We look forward to meeting you! We can’t wait to take your fur baby into our hearts and care for them as if they were our own!

We acknowledge we are on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.  We thank them for having cared for these lands and waters

Tiesha has lived in the Lower Mainland for most of her life. A childhood friend of Hunter’s, she is a walking testimonial to the impact Rain City Dogs has on a family’s quality of life! She lives with her Great Dane mix, Kenickie, who became a pro on a leash, after coming to her with no experience as an adult dog. Learning with Rain City gave both owner and dog a whole new arena of adventures neither thought possible! Tiesha has been caring for all kinds of animals, from dogs and cats to rabbits and birds, since childhood, and can’t resist making new furry friends everywhere she goes.

“There is not a province in Canada where Brian has not called home for a time, and wherever the winds have taken him, animals always find a place into his heart. In 2017 he decided to finally put down roots in East Vancouver, where he plays, lives, and works with his wife, children and dogs. Brian is an innate animal whisperer of sorts, and holds a lifetime of passion advocating for, as well as working and hanging with all doggos, especially the underdogs. Spending his days and nights walking and rolling with muttley crews is absolutely living his best life. They speak the same language. Brian believes relationships with any animal starts with trust and safety, he feels dogs always tell us what they need ultimately, we just have to listen, and understand. It is an honor for Brian to have the opportunity to get to know each one-of-a-kind personality of the Rain City canines, and he looks forward to romping with your pups!”
